You are of course perfectly safe in giving your email address to perlmonks. Afterall the monks have more spiritual things to do than spend all day sending you email about their latest make money fast scheme :-)

However if you feal that you need to have a safe email address to use for registrations elseware then you might want to have a look at Spamgourmet which porvides a system for generating disposable email addresses.
