My Debian (Woody) box is intermittently connected with the Net at various locations. The default install left my box with a name "laptop.localdomain.fake". Of course I could change it. But it occured to me, that this is a good opportunity. I could administer the domain ".fake" locally and could name all resources "*.provider.fake" if they are provided by my connection or "*.localdomain.fake" if they are directly provided by my box. Unfortunately the bind-Nameserver wants to forward to an IP-Address and doesn't recognize a name there. So I can't use "nameserver.provider.fake" as an alias to the nameserver. I want to install a nameserver written in perl instead where I can modify such behavior.
