The same way as you would on your own machine, if you admin the server. If you don't admin the server, you'll either have to ask the system administrator of the machine to install it for you or find a way to install it locally in your cgi directory yourself. However, as GD depends on the presence of the GD library, this is easier said than done.

Bottom line: assuming you're not the admin of said server, you're best off asking the administrator(s) to install it for you.
