Feel free. There is a chatterbox feed, and you can do whatever you please to interact with it. There are several existing alternate interfaces. To dod several of the things you suggest would require something more GUI oriented than HTML eg; Java, Flash, VB. There is no such thing as an editable select in HTML. Enjoy.
