Chatbot::Eliza is the module you speak of.

You can combine Net::Aim and Chatbot::Eliza to get a fairly good robot. See (AOL bot) Confuse the heck out of everyone you know! and http://www.newrisedesigns.com/robots for what I've done with my robots.

One of my robots did fool my girlfriend's mom, who thought I was just being sarcastic, so it might work on your boss. :)
