Welcome to the Monastery!
Let's start with CVS: CVS Version Control for Web Site Projects and how to use and administer CVS.
I didn't know until now (thanks derby) of any online resource strictly focused on CMS design; anyway, you can at least study what other people has done at www.cmsinfo.org and www.cmswatch.com.
There are many books related to this subject, I would suggest the following ones: Web Content Management, Designing Easy-to-use Web Sites, Content Management Bible and Information Architecture for the World Wide Web, 2nd Edition. I also suggest to buy a copy of Embedding Perl in HTML with Mason, Mason seems in my little experience a good foundation for a CMS; Bricolage is a well known example.
There are also a couple of nodes: Content management system recommendations? and Pure Perl BLOG/CMS Roundup.
I will be very happy to hear more suggestions from other Monks!
Ciao, Valerio
