The only comment I have is that once you use LWP wget doesn't seem so great any more. 8-)

But doing it your way makes it a cinch to extend of course. I like this idea. I wish merlyn had written that column 3 years ago when I was fumbling through some of these issues. I'm casting a pseudo-vote for the column. ++
