I use perl2exe to deploy small packages of maintenance logic to our network users -- personally, the idea of using it for security had never crossed my mind, because I knew how it worked from the start. I use perl2exe because I haven't convinced my supervisors that we need full AS Perl installs deployed ( yet. :> ). I've tried to use perlcc, but I have yet to produce a reliable executable by any means. :/ I respect your distaste for this tool, Randal, but like any tool in the garage, it has good uses and bad uses. I can only wish that we could enforce use of screwdrivers for screws and not picking noses! ;)
