OK, this is not to publish my own piece of poetry, this time, but just to share a nice browsing experience that I had.
I was surfing in the outside world, looking for some specific Perl scripts, when I fell on
that site.
I don't think that the guy is knowing about PerlMonks (he does not have any link to perlmonks.org), and I have searched perlmonks.org for some of his creations but did not find anything similar here.
I concluded that we should bless this person, send him an email, invite him to PerlMonks, give him direclty the status of Monk... I think he deserves it, read this example:
#!perl
#gk_poetry 5 novembre 98 Guy Kastenbaum gkasten@filnet.fr
$s="tay here ";
open(YOUR,"eyes");
open(MY,"heart");
while (($time_is=<YOUR>)&&$s)
{
$time_is=~s/e/n/s;
$time_is=~s/t/e/m;
$time_is=~s/a/d/;
$time_is=~s/A/D/ism;
print MY $time_is."\n\t";
$s.="top " if $time_is=~/over/;
$s.="till " if $time_is=~/money/;
last if $s=~/tay here till top/;
}
close MY;
print "I ".((-f "heart")?"beat":$s) ;
close YOUR;$s;
