I'm using v2.91 of CGI to create br tags. But I think it's a little off: 
my $q = CGI::new();

$q->br  outputs <br></br>

I was under the impression that the correct xhtml br tag (both in strict and transitional) was: 
<br/>

[download]
Under Phoenix/Mozilla, <br></br> is translated as 2 <br/>.

According to CGI.pm, the default DTD is "xhtml1-transitional.dtd".

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
