pemungkah stems from my interest in Balinese gamelan - sort of like low-tech techno, for those who've never heard it - specifically gender wayang, one of the most ancient forms. I needed a nick for IRC, and wanted to pick something that was not likely to spring to anyone else's mind.

The pemungkah itself is an overture played before the traditional Balinese shadow puppet play of the Mahabarata, as the puppeteer is laying out the puppets that are to be used.
