Hello Monks,

Maybe I am not the most attentive person in the world. Even though I try to be very careful, especially when writing code, I may miss a few obvious things. Like for example, just the other week, I noticed that the coffee shop I pass by every day on my way to work was recently repainted … into an almost neon (salad) green! Apparently, it was painted so almost a month ago.

But that is not what I wanted to discuss here. I am sure most of you have used a program like Fortune, which outputs great quotes like “Oliver’s Law: Experience is something you don’t have until just after you need it” and ”A student who changes the course of history is probably taking an exam”. So, I thought that PerlMonks, being a community with a good sense of humor, could use some hilarity somewhere on the page. And off I went carefully exploring the pages to see where such quotes would fit. Thus, I finally found a little section where quotes like ”Your skill will accomplish what the force of many cannot” and ”Welcome to the Monastery” are printed.

These quotes are very appropriate for the webpage, but I was wondering, wouldn’t it be more fun to intersperse these “proletariat” quotes with random senselessness that Fortune generates? Or maybe there should be another section, somewhere near the existing one, to output just the Fortune quotes? What do you think?
