Gee, zdog, I'm honored and all, but... "good knowledge of Perl"? What have you been smoking and why aren't you sharing? <G>

I am not a developer, I'm a sysadmin. I *use* Perl, fairly frequently. But I don't pretend to be a good Perl coder. I use the simplest tool that will do the job, and I'm interested in the job, not the code. I'm more likely to use someone else's code, and modify it for the job at hand.

In short, I'm a damn fine sysadmin, and yes I have a working knowledge of Perl. I can read Perl code. Sometimes I even know the answer to a Seekers of Perl Wisdom question. But I'm not comfortable being described as a Perl coder with the same words that you use to describe someone like jcwren. The rest of the line I'll take. <G>

Update: "And why aren't you sharing" is a joke. Read it again. "What are you smoking, and why aren't you sharing?" See?

I'm not insulted to have it said that I have a "good knowledge of Perl" - I'm concerned that someone else (in this case, jcwren) might be to have me included in the same category they are. That's all.
