Hi,

Just wondering ... I noticed clients that can automatically test for new email (from hotmail or yahoo, for example).

If someone was to create an client application that actually retrieved the body of an email without opening the browser (and reply, and all the other email related tasks, etc) ... would this upset Hotmail or Yahoo? Since this would mean they'd lose page views and therefore revenue from advertising.

Even if they did get upset, would Hotmail or Yahoo be able to do anything about it? Legally, there isnt anything wrong with creating a client that used the standard http protocal to retrieve and send information, is there?
