I doubt there will ever be a PalmPerl unless the Perl hardware architecture changes. The strong memory segmentation doesn't really map well to the current Perl internals. I guess if all strings are being limited to less than 64K it may work. Oh, and arrays would have to be limited to something like 5300 elements too. This may also put a limit on the use of recursion, as all the internal Perl stacks are implemented as arrays too. I doubt this would be useful.
