Unless I'm really misreading your question, converting a number of minutes to hours and minutes is trivial. Divide/mod by 60.

my $timeInMinutes = 12345;

my $timeHrs = int($timeInMinutes/60);
my $timeMin = $timeInMinutes % 60;

It's the inverse of what you did to convert hours/minutes to total minutes.
