Iam using Net::FTP to automate some mundane ftp tasks that I have to do everyday. I used the get and put methods to download and upload files. I have a few questions, for which I was not able to find answers even after some googling..

  • Is there any module that can parse the output of 'dir' command and return a hash or some object with meaningful information in it.
  • Is there any way I can check for the correctness of a file that I have uploaded ( against packet drops , etc ). In short how do i compute the checksum of a file in ftp server without downloading it, or is there an easy way of ensuring the remote copy is same as the local copy.
