I am writing a Tk program that takes data input from an external source. The data comes in as a stream that starts with a specific hotkey type combination (like Alt-Tab, Ctrl-Alt-Del, etc). The rest of the data is sent as characters and terminated with a newline.
What I want to be able to do is to capture the control sequence then pass off the capturing of the rest of the input stream to a sub. Problem is, once I get the control sequence and enter the sub, all of the remaining input stream is discarded.
I've tried something like this: 
$mw->bind("<Key-Combo>", [ \&get_input, Ev('K') ]);
# ...snip...

sub get_input()
{
 my $input = <STDIN>;
 # etc..
}

I'm pretty sure this is wrong, since everything after the hotkey combination is ignored. Is there somewhere else (like another handle) I should be checking? I really hate to have a top level bind that captures every keystroke to reconstruct the data stream.
