Looking at the content here I would say that
chromatic,
jcwren and
tilly seem to have some work
experience between them. In fact I learned Perl on the
job, for the job. I cannot speak for them, but I certainly
do not feel poorly paid. And from the sounds of it all
three of us have been in jobs that we decided were not
worthwhile, and all three of us did indeed leave.
That doesn't mean we walked in and threw temper tantrums.
We got other jobs then told our old job we were leaving.
And did.
Indeed rather than lacking "real world" experience, what
we seem to have in common is enough skills and ability to
have confidence that we could find another job...
