"rebind the captured lexical variables" is probably better stated as "prepend another symbol-table/hash to the list of searched symbol-table/hashes". This is different to Perl's closure handling and scoping.Indeed. Perl closures keep references to lexicals. Lexicals don't live in the symbol table. Package variables live in the symbol table, but those aren't "captured" by closures.
