This takes a file and prints it out really slowly.
I made this for readers of rec.games.roguelike.nethack,
so they could actually view "movies" they had tee(1)d out
of nethack(6).
perl -ne '$|=1; foreach $_ (split //) {print; select(undef,undef,undef
+,0.01);}' [filenames...]
Or, as a script file:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
# slowprint.pl, by Weyfour WWWWolf (Urpo Lankinen)
# Use however you want, but keep my name here. No warranty.
use strict;
BEGIN {
$|=1;
}
while(<>) {
foreach $_ (split //) {
print;
select(undef,undef,undef,0.01);
}
}
