Hello monks. Im a perl novice. In order to match the proper nesting of tags what im now doin is just replacing the tag into some special character and then matching the content. is there any other way to match the content without replacing the tag into special characters. I have tried extended pattern matching also. 
$_="<p>murugesan <p>is a new user</p></p>";
s/<p>/æ/g;
s/<\/p>/Æ/g;
m/æ([^æÆ]+)Æ/g && print;
