I'm looking for a set of modules that provide functionality similar to Chatterbox, but are independent of the Everything2 engine. I like the underlying XML used by Chatterbox, but want to use AxKit on the server to do the formatting. Keeping the underlying XML 100% compatible with Chatterbox would also allow me to take advantage of Java applets, IRC and Jabber bridges, etc. which could afford some users nicer chat interfaces, while still allowing basic functionality for those with lower end boxes. Any pointers would be fantastic!
