I have not been happy lately. I just recently started a new
job, one that I really should have thought about twice before
taking. While expressing my unhappiness with the man, he
explained that they pick Fast and Cheap over any other
combination that included Good anyday. Well, that just
don't compute in my head.
Now I do have to admit they when they say they will
deliver something in 3 weeks, they get it done in two.
May not look pretty, but they get it done.
This relates back to Why do monks put up with it? by Ovid, by the way.
I thought
very long and hard about what everbody had to say on the
subject, and I think one of mdillion's
responses
really hit home with me - it made me realize that reality is what we make
of it. I happen to
believe in code as an art form, if that means I don't make
the big bucks, then so be it. I can still make a living.
Good, Fast, Cheap - pick any two.
So, what would you pick?
