I have taken some time to reply to Harry Fuecks comment about Perl community being jealous of PHP's success. You can read it fully at my weblog here.

In brief: I do NOT intend to bash PHP and appear as a Perl zealot. I have taken over this module quite recently, so I still have to find some time to make it's documentation more objective. The purpose of PHP::Strings ir to help PHP programmers learn how to do things in Perl.
