re: wake-up & battery: the whole thing is never "off" per se... and I've had the screen on for 10 hours straight without it dying. I do charge it nightly, so I've never seen it totally dead... Handspring does recommend to put it in the charger/cradle when not in active use, suggesting you should top off the charge whenever possible.

re: wifi: there are cards out there, but personally I've never had a need for one...

re: Sprint: three words, Local Number Portability.
