how can i get lower-case-Chars in pod2man-generated manpage-titles (without edititing the manpage afterwards)

F.i. the given file gUrKe 

# touch gUrKe
# pod2man gUrKe |groff -mandoc -Tascii
GURKE(1)      User Contributed Perl Documentation   GURKE(1)


perl v5.8.2          2004-03-22                     GURKE(1)

Naturally i want to see gUrKe(1). What's to do ?
