Confession can cleanse the soul and free a guilty heart. It has been
almost two years since
Return of the Confessional, the latest in a tradition
started by
chromatic in
Confessional. With all the new monks, I
think it's time for another. Feel free to post anonymously, if the pain
of a public confession would be too great.
Forgive me, fellow monks, for I have sinned. This is my first public
confessional and there is much to cleanse.
- I have indiscriminately used all my remaining votes at the end of
the day just to gain XP.
- I have tossed off quick replies to questions to be one of the
first, and then filled in a better reply later.
- I have tossed off quick replies to questions to be one of the
first, without properly checking my facts or testing my code.
- I have edited nodes without saying I did so.
- I have engaged in extended Re:^N arguments that did not add much
new information.
- I have withheld useful information from an OP because the node
was 'stale' and not worth much XP.
- I have made hit-and-run comments in the CB without taking time to
engage in a real conversation.
- I envy tilly and Ovid their excellent writing style.
- I tend to read and favor nodes by monks I know well.
- I have prematurely optimized code.
- I have written useful modules, but have been too lazy to submit
them to CPAN.
If there was something you did that was against the good spirit of
Perlmonks or the Perl community, post here. We will understand.
