OK, i'll give you one example. Sometimes I include code in LaTeX documents, using the \verbatim macro, kinda like the <pre> HTML tag, where lines are not automatically wrapped. So if I want a document, where the lines fit, I need less that 80 character lines. Sometimes I open source code in terminal windows. Yes, terminal windows can be resized, but no, I don't like doing that.
