Since we have been avidly discussing signal-to-noise ratio, it is only logical that we discuss that motherlode of high noise-to-signal ratio, comp.lang.perl.misc.
But comp.lang.perl.misc was my first resource for Perl. It was there that I saw many people's attempts to create tutorial sites fall by the wayside, the only one seeming to keep participants for a long time being Perl monks.
It was there that I collected more than 20 of abilgail's cryptic Perl-one-liner signatures.
So, should we have access to that Usenet group from here? Complete with posting privs? Or should we somehow outsource it via the free Usenet services such as DejaNews or MailANDNews?
Or should be we do what we are currently doing, which is not bothering with it?
