I was leaning towards doing it the "right" way myself... I've emailed him and am going to work on a patch to make Class::DBI::Abstract cleanly overridable/extensible for the different flavors of DBs. Hopefully he'll be amenable and it won't take much work/time, and I can move on to finishing Class::DBI::Plugin::Aggregates.
