In my opinion, having skills in both can only be a good thing. Each was designed for different purposes; each can solve some of the same problems. However, the more tools you have in your kit, the more likely you'll be able to choose the correct one for the specific problems you encounter.
Besides, it can only make you more marketable in the long run.
