The Approval Nodelet has now been updated so that it is a complete superset of the Node Status nodelet. Those who are of sufficient level for moderation and who use the Approval Nodelet may now turn off Node Status nodelet without missing some information such as node type and who front-paged it.

I know there's been recent discussion on adding other features to the Approval Nodelet, but this interim fix will tide us over for now.
