i just updated my perl from 5.8.0 to 5.8.4 (for installing RT) from source, and that worked just fine. but when i try to start my RT-virtualhost, i get some errors complaining about some missing modules in the 5.8.0 @INC paths (instead of the 5.8.4 paths, where all the required modules are installed).
after a cup of coffee, i noticed that this must be because my mod_perl is still at 5.8.0 (but that's only a guess)
after much googling, i didn't find anything comprehensive on the subjects:
how to check what version of perl is lurking inside my mod_perl
how to update that version with the smallest effect possible on the whole apache-setup (since i'm running all of this on a server running Plesk7, which is rather sensitive about it's surroundings changing, i think)
it could of course be that i'm missing something terribly obvious, but i just couldn't find anything. anybody have an idea under which rock i should look for the docs for this, or which .so i have to replace with what?
P.S.: what should i do with the perl5.6.0 paths and binaries, anyhow?
