Tim Bunce has published the DBI Advanced talk, updated for 2004 events.

Among other interesting things, there is mention of DBI version 2, although he doesn't talk about a release date.

The complete TO DO list is available (It needs authentication, but Tim has also given the access codes: guest/guest).

The new version aims at better portability between databases; it will add some new features (e.g. subroutines hooks for events such as "OnFetch"); it will strenghten the tests that each DBD driver must pass for compatibility, and much more.
