Hi, I'm wondering what's the best way to do the following, I'm sure many of you monks have done this before.

I have a potentially long text, which could contain html paragraphs like <P>. I only want to show a few lines of the beginning, say for a nicely formatted table, similar to PM's <more>. How do I get a good starting section? Let's say I want to accomplish the following (actually suggestions on this list are aslo appreciated):

• There is a max length of characters.
• Would be nice to display a whole paragraph
• would be nice not to break in the middle of a sentence
• Certaily don't want to break in the middle of a word
