As for strict, one might note that theDamian often doesn't use strict, either. But if you put a use strict at the top of his code, most of it would work, anyway.
Really? Have you tried? I have, and most of what I tried didn't work by slapping a use strict; on it. And usually I slap a use strict; on it because his code contains bugs, bugs that become instantly obvious when you slap a use strict; on them.
