In general, your best bet when asking questions about Gtk2 is the Gtk2-Perl mailing list.

Which version of the modules are you using? If it's current, please tell me where that mention of IOChannel is, or post about it on the list (which is what I'll do if you post it here), so it can be fixed. If it's not the latest version, please update, as there have been a lot of fixes and improvements over time, particularly regarding the documentation.
