Some people won't bother to read a long thread before posting. Either way this would be optional. If it doesn't work for you, or you miss to many messages that should have been read then turn it off. Personaly I think it would be great and I hope maybe a way could be found to implement it on at least search and newest nodes. As long as there is always a way to bypass or turn it off then I'm happy.
