Monticulous Monks,
I just found the Perl module Search::InvertedIndex and its mysql interface module Search::InvertedIndex::DB::Mysql on CPAN. Before I invest a lot of time into figuring/trying/implimenting it, I wonderd if anyone had experience with it and if it really does perform well on mysql databases with millions of elements.
As some might recall from previous threads, I am working on a database for the results of a multiple-choice questionnaire. There are 3,000 possible responses and ~20,000 respondents. Once loaded, the data never changes, so I'm only concerned with the efficiency of selects for producing reports quickly.
Having some limited experience in search engines, I'm naturally looking to an inverted index solution. (Although have played with non-inverted indexes for comparison).
Is this module my dream come true?
