I'm trying, with little success, to match Belarc Advisor's output of installed software using Perl and Win32::TieRegistry. The key I'm currently looking into is HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall, and this key does not provide a list which matches that returned by Advisor--it finds some things Advisor doesn't, and doesn't find a lot of things Advisor does.
I suspect that I might be looking under the wrong key, but regedit also fails to find many of the program names (even searching the entire Registry) listed in the Advisor output.
This may not be the best arena for this question, but it's one of the few where posted questions actually get answered; I'm hoping that someone out there will have an answer to this one: Where can I find installed software information--whether in the Registry or elsewhere?
TIA
