That's really interesting. Why do you prefer that to this:
while (1) {

}
This seems the same to me, only less abnormal.

Yes, exactly so. The 37 line marks the end of the 'node'.
If the function sees a 'menu' line before the 37 line,
it knows that the node contains a menu, and the following
code processes the menu up to the following 37 line.
Lines that look different are not of interest to this function.
