I've noticed that 
my ($a,$b,$c) = "TRUE";

[download]
doesn't work. Is 
for ($a,$b,$c) { $_ = "TRUE" }

[download]
the best way to assign the same value to multiple scalars? Can it be done strictly in one swipe? Thanks much.
