Could you elaborate slightly? Do you mean that you can't pack other widgets in the same window as a Tk::Message?

ie, is it (a more complex version of) the following that doesn't work: 

$main = MainWindow->new;
$main->Message(-text => 'xyzzy')->pack;
$main->Button(-text => 'foo')->pack;
MainLoop;
