Wisest and most esteemed Monks. This is the tale of my travels this last fortnight and how I suffered many trials and was suffered by a vision.

Your humble servent left the town of Proc on the roade to Console. Whilst sleeping under an emtree I was waylaid by bandits and left for dead. In the Syntax desert your servant wandered for two days with naught to sustain him. At the end of his strength and suffering delusions, a vision was come upon him. Permit me to record in pen and ink that which showed itself to me.

A blank sky with no mark upon it filled my awareness. A giant eye, an orb, floated in the firmament. It passed across my vision, looking for some thing unknown. Endlessly the orb searched wandering to and fro across my vision. The scene repeated itself over and over.

For how long I watched this theme I cannot say. I awaked in an oasis. I praised God I had passed to the afterlife, but it was not to be. Thirst informed me I was not free from the shackles of this earth. I crawled to a small pool and drank and let sleep overcome me.

I drempt a strange dream of symbols and majiks, incantations and charms. These dreams deeply disturbed me. When I awoke these symbols still held the power to stand before me, though the daylight was broad and full. I took pen and cast the symbols upon my parchment that their power might be preserved. They made some strange sense to me, yet they were not of any tongue I had read in my travels. But then, fearing the power in these symbols, I destroyed that first copy and then set about to recast them, using the arts which the learned monks had taught me, so as to obfuscate their meaning.

I endevored to deliver these to you old, wise monks. Guard them full of care; for they are not for the ignorant. Nor should the Novice see them as they would confuse and befuddle. Have your Scribes copy them, your Acolytes study them. Ponder their deeper meaning you Monks and Friars. Ask of the Pontifs and the Bishops their deepest meanings for there is power there. Do this that you may one day join the ranks of the Saints.
