today is my first day with perl really and I'm trying to figure something out. I'm writing a proggy for find-a-drug (for those of you who are familiar with it) and have got a great program going :). my only problem is that I want to make it so that the command prompt does not pop up. I've tried a number of suggestions I've seen around, added them to my script, but as soon as I run it, it just closes and does not start find-a-drug. I heard mention of wperl.exe and I think that's what I need to use, but I have no idea how to use wperl.exe. Do I just change the extention on the file or what do I do? Also..how do I check which version of perl I have. I download perl a while ago and I don't know if I have the newest version :) Again...sorry for the easy question. Also..can someone point me toward the search function on this site..i couldn't find it. Thanks :)
