This month Microsoft is ending free support for Visual Basic 6. (Whatever this means as I have used it only once for a short project.) In this article the author seem to suggest that people using Perl, Python, PHP or Ruby could actually develop the same applications that are developed in VB6 or in VB.NET .

I am interested in the wisdom of the Monks to lay out a path for transitioning an application written in VB6 to any of the free languages.

Would a VB6 to Parrot compiler be possible ?
