I have a variable contains like: 

$text='
1 + 2
<maths> &plus; dfdf</maths>
';

I have to replace the &plus; to &thinsp;&plus;&thinsp; Except inside <maths> Tags.

Output Should be: 

1&thinsp;&plus;&thinsp;2
<maths> &plus; dfdf</maths>
