An interesting story I just read that I thought I would share. Devsource has a story, The State of the Scripting Universe, where Perl (big surprise) is one of the main languages discussed (along with PHP, Python, Ruby, and Tcl). Damian does a fine job of representing our language.

Five Things You Didn't Know You Could Do With Perl is another interesting piece on the same site and the author actually uses strict in all his code (and warnings in some)!! I know this isn't something I usually see outside of the monastary, so it's nice the word is getting around.
