I've been pondering (as in P&B pondering, I'm sure) how best to respond and I keep coming back to the same place. You made sense.

If TMFKAP**2 chooses to leave because he feels he's been unfairly attacked, that's his own prerogative. You posted your position, which is just, right, and appropriate.

Our former collegue has made his choice; please do not allow his (imho) selfish motives undermine your desire to assist and/or participate in the community.

PM will survive said colleague's presence, regardless of the avatar he chooses. I personally believe that your post was good and apropos.
